After living like a playboy in Dubai for twenty six (26) years, Sharif is fired from his job and deported back to Egypt because he was caught with his boss' wife. Upon his return to his old apartment, he finds unusually tight security around the building, armed guards at the entrance, and the need for a permit every time he enters or leaves. This is very puzzling until he finds out that the Israeli Embassy is now in the same building. He tries to sell the apartment but there are no buyers, and when there is an attack on the building, the Egyptian government intervenes and convinces Sharif to stay. Back to his old ways, he is caught in a scandal which was a trap to force him to drop his lawsuit against the Embassy. Sharif relents until one day while watching television, he sees a young Palestinian child killed during a demonstration.
