The last of Oum Kalthoum's six (6) films which began with Wedad in 1936, produced in 1947. Fatma, a poor nurse struggling to survive, lives in Old Cairo near the "Princes' Quarters" and falls in love with Fathi, a young man from the upper class. Society and traditions of the time do not allow for such a pairing so the couple face major obstacles if they want to be together. The film features nine (9) of Oum Kalthoum's most famous songs with lyrics by Beiram El Tounsi and Ahmad Rami and music by Zakariya Ahmad, Riad El Soumbati, and Mohammad El Qasabji. Starring Oum Kalthoum, Anwar Wajdi, Suleiman Najeeb, and Mimi Shakeeb. Script by Mustafa Amine, Directed by Oum Kalthoum's favorite director of the time Ahmad Badrakhan.
