Riad Al-Sunbati is a master of the oud and classical Arabic composition. The music in this CD is magical. The lyrics are an important message for the spiritual nature of men, and tell a wonderful story of a sinful man gone astray from God and who returns to Him through repentance. Written by Omar Khayam, the lyrics resemble the parable of the prodigal son from the Gospel of St. Luke. A fantastic composition of movement and emotion. Al-Sunbati's oud playing is an orchestra in itself, and rival's Om Kolthoum's performance of the same song. The recording quality is not as good as it could be. Highly recommended.
