The first track of The Gathering Season is a haunting Kashlima, which is very pulsing and dark. Other favorits on this album are Aenaem, which is a Samai rhythm (10/8), and Eyes Like Cats which has a nice slow and funky Saidi paired with a peppy sounding Ayyub. This recording has several different rhythms on it, straying away from the traditional beledi. There is also a great variety of tempos on this CD. Two thumbs waaaaay up.
