Mr. Youssef Kassab was born in Damascus, Syria. He started as a student in the Oriental Music Institute of Damascus. He studied singing, music theory, and playing the oud.
He immigrated to the USA and settled in New York where he soon became one of the most prominent Arabic singers and instrumentalists in the U.S.
He composed for many singers and is still the leading instructor for singer and instrumentalists for the oud and qanun. He has 13 Samies of his own.
This book is a collection of some of the most famous classical songs by the most prominent singers and composers, such as Om Kolthoum, Riyad al-Sinbata, Abdul Wahab, Muhammad al-Qasabji, to name a few.
