The music of the Arabian Gulf (or Khaleej) is a celebration of life and joy. The music and dances of the region have been handed down from generation to generation and have survived to present time. The most commonly used instruments in Khaleeji music are drums (tablas), Tambourines, finger cymbals, and Takhamir (small drums). The Khaleeji singing style is characterized by "call and response" singing and the melodic line is repeated with little rhythmic shifts. This CD presents some of the most famous singers of the Arabian Gulf performing traditional songs with modern arrangements.
