The Kata'eb Party was founded in 1936 by Sheikh Pierre Gemayel as a sports organization which later developed into armed forces resisting the French occupation and played a major role in the independence of Lebanon in 1943. The party backed president Camille Chamoun during the 1958 revolt and under Fouad Chehab formed a triple alliance with the NLP and the Nationalists. In 1975, the party became involved in the civil war as part of the Christian forces of the Lebanese Front. The party was eclipsed by the birth of the Lebanese Forces and its charismatic leader Bachir Gemayel. Today the party suffers from many divisions and poor representation despite instigating the Taef and the many efforts of George Sa'adeh to revive it. SUBTITLES IN ENGLISH AND FRENCH. RUNNING TIME 200 MIN.
