Hezbollah emerged in 1982 when a group of Islamic believers established the party to fight against the Israeli occupation of Lebanon. From the beginning, the party was linked to the Islamic movement in Iran which has had a great impact on both its path and policies. It was religiously linked to the Irani leader Al Imam Khomeini and then to Al Imam Al Khaminei. The party's first secretary general, Sheikh Sobhi Tofeily, was succeeded by Sayyed Abbas Al Mousawi who was assasinated when his convoy was hit by an Israeli Air Force strike. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was then unanimously chosen as the party's leader. Despite many internal crises, including clashes with Tofeily, the party became the backbone of Lebanese resistance against the occupation and was instrumental in the Israeli withdrawal from the South. Today, Hezbollah is a major player in Lebanon both in politics and in social services throughout the country. SUBTITLES IN ENGLISH AND FRENCH. RUNNING TIME 180 MIN.
