The movement led by Imam Sayyed Moussa El Sader to represent the Shiia, the poor, and the disadvantaged in Lebanon in the 1950's was named by its followers "Amal" meaning "Hope". Amal Movement was defensively a part of the Lebanese civil war under the Nationalist and Patriotic Parties Front. Imam El Sader, in a controversial decision, restricted the use of arms. He disappeared in 1978 and was succeeded by Hussein El Husseini who clashed with several Lebanese and Palestinian forces and parties. The Movement was then led by Nabih Berri, where it became a major player in the resistance against the Israeli occupation, the political negotiations to end the war, and finally a major stakeholder in the current parliament and government. SUBTITLES IN ENGLISH AND FRENCH. RUNNING TIME 180 MIN.
