Umoya is the "wind" or "spirit" in Zulu. This album is a fusion of traditional rhythms, the energy of tribal beats and percussion, and the modern styles from Africa. Traditional instruments include the Sangoma drum (used to invoke the spirits by traditional healers), Slit drums, Dum dum (traditional African bass drum), Mbira (played with the thumbs), Lohi (bushman lute), and the Chapman stick.
